Patrick Somers is a 2010 RHP/SS with a 5'9'', 140 lb. frame from Lompoc, CA, who attends Cabrillo High School. Somers is a young player with a trim waist and a projectable frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a medium arm circle on the back side. Somers competes on the mound with quiet confidence. He has very good pitchability for a 2010 graduate, mixing his pitches and throwing strikes. Somers has arm speed that helps think he will throw with more velocity as he matures. His delivery is solid, and he stays balanced throughout. His change up is his best pitch at 66 mph with sinking action. He also throws a 73 mph fastball that he changes speeds with, and a 61 mph curveball with 12/6 break. He throws strikes with all of his pitches, and he has upside on the mound. Defensively he has solid actions. He moves well, and he turns the double play showing good hands and quickness. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a very wide base. He is a contact hitter with a short stroke. Somers is a young player with upside. He is a good student as well.
