John Faircloth is a 2009 SS/OF with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Wake Forest, NC who attends Rolesville HS. He has a nice athletic frame with some strength potential. Faircloth ran the 60 in 7.52 and threw 79 mph during infield drills. His feet worked well on defense and he charged the ball and showed solid overall feel for defense. Faircloth's arm action is fairly long right now and he tends to gather before he throws and he may end up playing some third base. He has experience in the outfield and may be one of those athletes who is comfortable playing all over the field. Offensively, Faircloth is a switch hitter who shows better bat speed from the right side. He's an aggressive hitter who uses his quick hands to attack pitches early in the count. Faircloth tends to have a bit too much downward plane to his swing, he has good strength and some bat speed and can be driving the ball to the gaps instead of putting it on the ground. Keep on eye on Faircloth, he has some tools to develop. He is also a good student.
