2004 Underclass National Showcase
Greg Hinz -- Hinz is a young junior first baseman from New York with a strong, well developed athletic frame. He lines up at the plate with a wide stance and approach very similar to Sean Casey of the Cincinnati Reds. Hinz drifts strongly to his front side during both batting practice and against live pitching (much like Casey’s primary fault), which takes away some bat speed that his strong body could give him. He runs well and shows some defensive ability, but the bat could be extra special. Greg is a good student.
