2007 South Top Prospect Showcase
Ryan Prickett is a 2008 OF/P with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Owasso, OK who attends Owasso. Ryan's arm works well in the outfield, but his front side looks a little stiff at times. He covers a lot of ground, and during his team's first showcase game he made an outstanding diving play on a flare to the outfield. He gets a good read off the bat, and takes a good line to the ball. He has a line drive approach at the plate and hits from compact and crouched stance. He has a nice short stroke, and his bat stays in the zone for a long time. He made a lot of solid pull contact during his batting practice session. On the mound he has good tempo and mechanics with solid arm action out of an over the top arm slot. His curveball spins tight and has late break and his fastball has arm side movement. His top fastball came in at 82 mph, and his top curveball at 74. He stayed very poised and under control with runners on base.
