2007 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Tanner Beck is a 2009 MIF/OF with a 5'10'', 170 lb. frame from Winston-Salem, NC who attends Parkland HS. He has a square shouldered athletic build with some present strength. Beck is a solid all around player who did things well both offensively and defensively. He was a solid fielder in games and his arm strength appeared to be much better than the velocity reading (75 mph) that he registered in drills. His fundamentals were well grounded and he made the plays. Offensively, Beck had the same type of strong fundamental approach. He has a quick line drive swing and showed some gap to gap power. He uses his strength to create some bat speed. Beck could use his lower half better to stay balanced and work into pitches for additional pop. He showed his polish running the bases, too. Beck has the tools and the skills to play at the next level. He is a very good student. Beck was named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
