Scott Jensen is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 5'11'', 220 lb. frame from Mount Vernon, WA who attends Burlington-Edison HS. He has a thick build on a large, mature frame. Jensen is a competitive pitcher and through he does not have 'big' stuff, he trusts what he does have and pitched with feel. He has a short, sling type of arm actoin that works from a high 3/4 slot. He showed some savvy by changing his arm action on occasion, mixing in a different look for hitters to consider. His 75-80 mph fastball had a lot of run and he did a nice job of keeping the ball down in the zone. His 66 mph curveball has big 1/7 break and good bite. Jensen also did a nice job of mixing in a 70 mph changeup. He works methodically but is in control of the game. For good measure he also showed a pick-off move that might catch some runners by surprise due to his large body type. Offensively he has a flat line drive type swing and his hands worked well with the bat. Jensen also handled himself well around the bag.
