Jackson Evans is a 2006 shortstop/third baseman from Vancouver, WA with a lean athletic build at 6-1, 175 lbs. He ran the 60 in 6.90 and showed his quickness out of the box from the left side by running 4.33 to first base. Evans is a smooth fielding defender with a quick release and solid arm strength. He showed nice range in the field. Offensively, Evans has a short, compact stroke from the left side, keeping his hands close to his body and generating good bat speed. Evans' quick hands give him the ability to make solid contact to all fields. Evans is a smart player on the field who showed nice instincts on the bases and on defense. He's a high level prospect.
