de la Rosa is a talented Dominican prospect and one of the best who attended the showcase. He has a very projectable pro style body at 6-2, 170 with well above average body life. De la Rosa ran a 6.81 in the 60 and showed lots of bounce athletically but probably projects off shortstop as he gets physically stronger. His plus arm strength will enable him to play anywhere on the field and makes him a likely candidate for third base. De la Rosa had a smooth, level swing and the ball had good life on contact. He battled hard against some pitchers throwing in the upper 80’s. Jairo, a free agent, is ready for pro ball right now. He has the whole package including Big League actions.
