Argenis Paz is a 2008 MIF with a 5'7'', 160 lb. frame from Scarborough, ON who attends Father Michael McGivny SS. He has a short, compact build with some present strength. Paz has nice body life and quickness; he ran the 60 in 6.84 and plays fast on the field, especially on defense. Paz made all the plays at both second and shortstop. His feet are quick and he moves through the ball well with balance and soft hands. He can play the middle infield at the college level. Offensively, Paz hits out of an open, wide stance with limited lower half involvement in his swing. He has a contact type approach and his looking to line the ball hard to any field. He does a good job of hitting with his hands and controlling the bat head while not trying to do too much. Paz was a scrappy, hard nosed player who liked being on the field. He is also an excellent student.
