Jared Tippett is a 2005 right handed pitcher from Blanchard, Louisiana, with a big 6'3", 200 lb. frame. He has good arm speed from a 3/4 arm angle with a higher than normal leg kick. Tippett gets arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 88 mph. His best pitch was his change up that he threw with good arm speed, and had good sink at 77-78 mph. Tippett also threw a short breaking slider at 75-77 mph. He did get tired later in his outing and started to throw up hill, but he showed his arm strength and his ability to throw strikes. Tippett only allowed 1 hit during his three innings of work against a very good hitting team, while striking out two and not allowing a run. He should create draft interest.
