Jason Flud is a 2006 catcher from Jacksonville, North Carolina, with good body life and room to get stronger in the future. He showed good actions behind the plate and developing arm strength. His best pop times were in the 2.03 to 2.09 range. At the plate, Flud hits out of a wide stance with no stride and an early, exaggerated hip turn. This cost him some power, but Flud has a nice level line drive swing and did a good job of making consistent contact, mostly pulling the ball. No single tool stood out for Flud, but he did everything pretty well and has the frame and athletic ability to keep improving. Flud is also an outstanding student off the field.
