2004 World Showcase
Laird is a slender 6-3, 155 lb. righthander from Georgia with a loose arm and plenty of big time projection. He threw 83-86 mph at the World Showcase from a low ¾’s release and had some good cutting action to his fastball on occasion. Laird throws across his body somewhat but does a good job of working the inside half of the plate to right handers. His curveball touches 72 mph with a consistent wide sweeping action and good command and he’ll dabble with a change up that shows promise. He's got a strong arm and he's going to get a much stronger body. He will throw 90 or better down the road..
