Acosta is a strong and mature 6-0 right handed hitting junior catcher from south Florida. He ran the 60 in 7.60 and threw 74 mph during catching drills with a low pop time of 2.15. Acosta hits from a spread stance at the plate with flexed knees and very little lower half movement or rhythm in his swing. This lack of rotation gives him a long swing now but Acosta is strong enough to improve as a hitter with some adjustments. We like the way he plays. He is a good student.
