2004 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
OF Joel Doolittle: Doolittle is a junior outfielder from Iowa with some strength in his upper body. He took a good batting practice on the first day of the Showcase and made solid contact, especially when pulling the ball. Doolittle has one of the biggest hand hitches you’ll ever see, though, and that left him consistently late on game level pitching. If he can get his hands in better hitting position, his strength will give him a chance to hit with some authority. His arm works very well from the outfield.
