John Oberholtzer is a 2011 LHP/1B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Stockton, CA who attends Lincoln. Strong athletic build, well-developed body. Low 3/4 arm slot on the mound, long loose arm action, attacks hitters, good armside run on fastball, around the plate with all pitches, nice three-pitch mix, tight 2-8 curveball, good sinking action on fastball, good feel for pitching. Drives the ball hard consistently at the plate, gets extension out front, squares the ball up well, has good offensive tools to work with from the left side. Clean infield actions at first base, good around the bag.
