Tyler Dowd is a 2012 RHP/OF with a 6-2 188 lb. frame from Springfield, MA who attends Springfield Central. Lean athletic build. Tons of potential on mound. Throws from 3/4 slot with loose arm action and very good arm speed. Effort in delivery but is consistent with his release point. Well balanced, simple delivery. Showed very good curveball with 11/5 break at 75. The pitch had good spin and late bite. Also showed changeup at 78. Good athlete who ran a 7.10 and showed high-level arm strength from the outfield with an event best velocity of 91. Line drive swing at the plate, will benefit from more strength and better use of his lower half. Pulls off ball at times. High-level pitching prospect to watch.
