2005 World Showcase
Juan Parra is a 2005 outfielder/second baseman from Caguas, Puerto Rico, with a lean 5'7", 140 lb. frame. Parra has a quick arm in the outfield, and shows good range that is playable in center field. He ran a 6.9-sixty, but had a leg injury that hampered his speed during the showcase games and may have influenced his sixty time as well. Parra is a right handed hitter with good balance at the plate. He projects as a lead off type player who will get on base. Parra has some bat speed, and will be a contact hitter at the next level.
