Kerry Hillis is a 2007 RHP/IF with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Austin TX, who attends St. Michael's Academy. Hillis has a taller body with a lean wirey build. Hillis pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot and uses a long arm action. He uses upright tall and fall style mechanics and throws with average effort. He has some tension in his arm when he throws and uses a 1 piece arm action. His fastball is on a nice downward plane and he spots it well. Hillis throws a 12/6 curveball with big break and late movement. His curveball presently is his best pitch. Hillis is a switch hitter. From the right hand side he has a medium base and has a deep load. He takes his hands to the ball well and has a slight uppercut swing path. From the left side he has a medium base and uses a no load approach. Defensively, he has nice hands and he follows his throws well. Hillis is a very good student.
