Kevin Gaid is a 2006 RHP from Pope High School in Roswell, Georgia, with a 6'4'', 180 lb. frame. Gaid has a tall, strong, and athletic body on the mound. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a nice and loose arm action, and has very good arm speed. Gaid has nice mechanics and stays balanced through his delivery. Gaid is very deceptive with his delivery as he hides the ball well and shows it to the hitters late. He throws an explosive fastball that topped out at 85 mph with good arm side life. Gaid also has good secondary pitches which includes a hard and sharp breaking ball from 70-73 mph, and a change up at 77 mph with sink and fade. Gaid maintains his arm speed on his secondary pitches, and throws all of his pitches for strikes. With the ability to throw his fastball by hitters and his good feel for his secondary pitches, we think Gaid has great upside for the next level. He is also a good student.
