Kevin Koehn is a 2005 switch-hitting catcher from Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with good body life and quickness for his position. He’s very agile behind the plate and has a good quick release with arm strength. Koehn’s best pop time was 1.98 and he was consistently in that area. He's very good defensively behind the plate. Koehn’s swings are similar from both sides of the plate. He has good balance and a short, simple line drive swing approach. He has a bit of a bat wrap from the right side and has a bit more smoothness from the left side, but that’s a small point. Koehn had a high percentage of hard contact from both sides. He also appeared to be a very patient hitter with some confidence when he got behind in the count. Koehn also pitched an inning, touching 77 mph with his fastball. Very good college catching prospect. Kevin is a good student.
