Luke Collis is a 2007 RHP/3B with a 6'3'', 200 lb. frame from Pasadena, CA, who attends St Francis HS. Collis has a strong and durable frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm action and arm speed. Throws with no effort and stays inline and balanced with a drop and drive delivery. He has a sneaky delivery with deception. Collis keeps his fastball down in the zone, and worked in the 83-86 mph range. He also mixed in a 10 to 4 curveball with sweeping action at 72 mph, and a 78 mph straight changeup. Collis has projectable velocity and pitches off his fastball with good life. He allowed only 2 hits in his 3 innings of work while striking out 4. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away stance with a loft swing. Collis uses a toe tap trigger with a rotational swing. Defensively he showed his arm strength and made a nice play to his left while playing 3B. Collis has upside on the mound with great projection, and is a good student as well.
