2005 World Showcase
Luke Greinke is a 2005 IF/OF from Orlando, Florida, with a strong 6'1", 185 lb. frame. Greinke put on a show during the outfield portion of the workout. His first throw was 88 mph and he followed it with throws of 94, 94, 95, then topped out at 96 mph from right field. He also had great carry on his throws and was very accurate. Greinke also showed soft hands in the infield with good footwork. He didn't disappoint at the plate either. He took a good bp with very good bat speed and good balance. Greinke got to a great leverage point and showed some power potential while making solid contact on almost each swing. He hit the ball hard in the showcase games as well, and showed great instincts on the bases. We know many scouts asked if Luke was going to pitch, but we think he had a great showing with what he did in the field and at the plate. He was one of the best performers at the event. His brother Zack pitches for the KC Royals. Luke has signed with Auburn.
