Marcos Torres is a 2006 C/1B with a 6'1'', 187 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends South Miami HS. He showed very good arm strength during catching drills with 78 mph velocity on his throws and a best pop time of 1.96. He has a quick release and consistent throw times. Torres has good footwork blocking pitches and some lower body life. He ran the 60 in 7.59. At the plate, Torres has a good coil and load with his body and moves through the ball well. He has quick hands to the ball that helps produce good raw power. He really turns on the inside pitch well and shows the ability to hit well with wood in his hands. His projectable power and quick hands will allow him to hit for a high average and power at the next level.
