Monzone is a 5-6 junior second baseman from Florida with some present strength in his arms and hands. Monzone took a good batting practice, showing a quick, compact stroke and enough hand strength to hit the ball hard up the middle and to the right side. He took the same approach into the game. Defensively, Monzone’s best tool was his hands, which were quick to the ball and quick on his exchanges. Monzone also filled in for an inning on the mound and threw 74 mph with a 59-61 mph curveball. He is a very good student.
