2004 Sunshine East Showcase
Matt Shore is a young 2006 5'6" middle infielder from Miami who appears even younger than his 2006 class. Although he is still physically underdeveloped for wood, Shore’s best tool looked to be his bat. He has a balanced, no stride style of hitting with a short, line drive swing plane. His percentage of hard contacts to the middle of the field in batting practice and games was very high and it looked like he’d had lots of repetitions and good coaching with the bat. Shore’s defensive tools and speed still need to develop as he physically matures. He has some nice athletic actions, but tends to run and move on his heels a little. Matt is a very good student.
