Brett Hanewich is a 2013 1B/3B/RHP with a 6-3 208 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends IMG Academies. Long athletic build, strong with room to get stronger. Two-way prospect, getting better quickly as a position player. Switch-hitter, bit better bat speed and swing mechanics left handed, upright stance, strong loose swing with good extension, hits against hard front side, has pull power, good plate discipline, projects offensively. 6.82 runner, good lateral mobility at third base, plenty of arm strength, loose actions, should have athletic ability to play third base over first base. Right handed pitcher, long arm action with 3/4's release, long stride out front, arm is fast coming through. Steady 89-91 mph velocity, touched 92 mph, late cutting action occasionally. Soft slurve type slider will flash bite and depth, still developing change up. Lots of tools and still projects to get stronger. Very good student, verbal commitment to Stanford.

Brett Hanewich is a 2013 RHP/3B/SS with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends IMG Academies/Pendleton School. Strong lower half, long and lean upper half, nice pitcher's build. Slow paced delivery with pause at the top, compact arm action and tight 3/4's slot, bit cross body on release. 4-seam fastball to 88 mph gets cutting action at times, sinks 2-seamer at 84 mph, throws fastballs to spots with intent. Soft curveball spin with proper shape, tends to aim but commands it well, rare change up. Has an idea how to pitch and projects well. 6.98 runner, very good infield arm strength, third base actions, good one spot quickness and athletic ability. Switch hitter, much better from the left side, shows good bat speed and a short, compact swing, line drive contact, less balance and bat speed from the right side, longer more complicated approach. Nice all around player and athlete, very versatile. Excellent student.
