Michael Loomis is a 6'0" right handed hitting catcher from Salem, NH, with some very good tools for the next level, especially on defense. He has good arm strength and nice quickness to his actions behind the plate. His pop times were consistently around 2.0 and down to 1.95. It looks like he’s received some good coaching and has learned the fundamentals well. Offensively, Loomis showed a big bat wrap in batting practice that left him late on balls. Loomis shortened up in games and made consistent hard contact to all fields, but there is still a lot more in his bat. He's an athletic catcher who runs fairly well with good baseball instincts and feel for the game. Keep an eye on him, he's got a chance to be very good.
