Austin Atwell is a 2008 OF/MIF with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Sachse, TX who attends Wylie HS. He has a lean, athletic build with deceptive strength. Atwell has top level run/throw tools. He ran the 60 in 6.67 and threw 91 mph from the outfield in drills. He has a short, quick release and gets very good carry on his throws. Atwell has first step acceleration in the outfield and on the bases and his speed can impact the game. Offensively, Atwell hits from a still start with his hands and has a short, swing to get the barrell to the ball. His strength and hand quickness are a big plus. He could and will improve his trigger and add rhythm into the ball. The offensive potential is all there. The tools play well for the highest level . Atwell is an excellent student.
