Matthew Johnson is a 2012 MIF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Owensboro, KY who attends Apollo. Looks the part, lean athletic well proportioned build with present strength. Easy fluid defensive infield actions, decent arm strength with quick release, sure hands, good body control. Solid hitting approach, confident in the box, quick bat, short compact bath, loose wrists, good balance, all fields, drives through the ball. Good setup, confident approach, strength at contact, real solid present hitter with some projection left. Drives gaps hard, showed very well against live pitching.
