Mike Meschke is a 2006 first baseman from Georgia with an extra strong 6-2, 215 lb country strong type of body. He's not going to win many foot races with shortstops but Meschke is a very good defensive first baseman with soft hands, good balance and surprising range. His left handed bat is going to carry him. Meschke is a natural hitter who combines plus strength with very good balance and hitting ability. He's going to hit for average and he's going to hit more than his share of home runs as well. Meschke hits to all fields and can make adjustments against good pitchers. He'll be dangerous at the college level with metal in his hands in a couple of years.
