Bryce Welborn is a 2013 RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends Northland Christian HS. Smaller compact build, good present strength. High energy delivery with max effort release, slow to fast pace, high 3/4's release point, throws downhill, has improved delivery consistency over the past year. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 92, have since been up to 94 mph. Fastball straight, maintains velocity from the stretch. Curveball has hard spin and flashes sharp biting action, some feel for developing change up, mixes it up and tries to pitch. Overall package really improving, had starter stuff this outing. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas Tech.

Bryce Welborn is a 2013 RHP/MIF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends Northland Christian HS. Smaller build with good present strength. Big leg delivery, slow pace, accelerates hard to the plate. Fastball to 88 mph, maintains FB velocity very well, curveball has hard spin and sharp bite, needs to learn to throw CB to left handed hitters, developing feel for change up. Command was a bit inconsistent, especially with fastball. Very good athlete who has tools as a position player/hitter. Excellent student.

Bryce Welborn is a 2013 RHP/SS with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends College Park HS. Small compact build, some present strength. Fast paced on line delivery, long extended arm action, 3/4's arm slot, some effort on release, arm comes through loose and fast, good extension out front. Consistent 86-88 mph fastball, flat plane at present, primary fastball pitcher, very consistent velocity, short hard slider later in outing, threw strikes and settled into a groove. Nice infield actions, works through ball well, long release but makes up with it with arm strength, good quick hands. Right handed hitter, max effort hitting approach, squared no stride stance, needs some hitting rhythm, some raw bat speed. Very good student.
