AJ Puk is a 2013 LHP/1B with a 6-7 220 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Washington HS. Long and strong physical build, looks like he's grown another inch. Compact quick arm action, hides ball well in back, high 3/4's arm slot with good downhill angle, is not getting much front side help in his delivery at present. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, consistent large flat running action, works fastball side to side and stays down in the zone, good shape to 74 mph curveball while flashing bite, tends to leave curveball arm side, showed good change up with nice arm speed, has deception and cruised through 3 innings with 9 K's. Aggressive left handed swing with lift, very good bat speed, first move tends to be opening front side, best when staying closed and driving ball to the middle of the field instead of pull, crushed one ball to CF for a triple, high ceiling hitter. Ran 7.48 in the 60. Good student, signed with Florida.

Left handed hitter, wide stance with good balance, very quick hands, surprisingly short to the ball for his size, very good to outstanding bat speed, shows no problems getting the barrel to low 90's velocity, knows the strike zone and is a confident hitter, type of hitter who can hit for both average and power and draw walks. Did not throw at this event. Higher ceiling pitching tools but has legitimate pro level hitting tools as well. Very good student, signed with Florida.

Throws strikes and learning to mix, fastball has deception due to ease of release, just waiting for next stage of strength/velocity to kick in. Simple delivery mechanics, extended 3/4's release point, long very loose arm circle, looses height at release but creates extreme side to side angle, repeats well. Consistent upper 80's fastball, commands fastball very well down in zone to both sides, will bust both LH'd/RH'd hitters inside. Hard curveball spin, flashes plus bite and depth, difficult angle for hitter to square up, has ideal release point for power slider in future, rare change up. High ceiling pitching talent. Also has prospect hitting talent, quick hands from balanced and quiet start, stays short and compact to the ball, present bat speed, squares up everything and drives it hard, low effort swing with high level bat speed, mostly line drive/gap type contact. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Florida.

Pitches from 3/4 slot with long arm action and a very loose arm. Good mechanics and extension. Gets on hitters quick. Good balance and very fluid throughout. Fastball up to 87 with life. Curveball had tight rotation and 12/6 break. Very good feel for 77 mph changeup. Smooth fielder at 1B with good feet and smooth arm action. Left-handed bat with a simple, easy approach and smooth swing with big power potential. Ball jumps off bat and he makes easy contact with bat speed and balance throughout swing. Very good student. High level prospect to watch.

Smooth easy arm action, low tension release, high 3/4's arm slot with good angle to the plate. Steady mid 80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, mostly straight with occasional glove side cutting action. Big breaking curveball has depth but lacks ideal power, nice feel for change up with sink. Threw strikes but tended to pitch to the middle. Very smooth left handed swing, low tension, handles the barrel and squares it up, could get hands extended more consistently, showed the ability to pull and lift the ball, will improve with more strength. Keeps improving in all aspects of the game. Excellent student.

Spread stance hitting, very good hitting rhythm, moves thru contact well, loose quick hands, good extension, sees the ball, stays inside at contact, some present bat speed with more to come, can be more aggressive in game approach. Smooth defensive actions, sound footwork, works through the ball. Calm leg raise delivery, good direction, throws downhill, long loose arm action. Steady 81-83 mph fastball, very nice arm speed on change up, hard sink at the plate, good shape to curveball. Will keep improving in all areas. Follow closely. Very good student.
