Austin Irwin is a 2013 RHP/C with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Escondido, CA who attends Orange Glen. Solid athlete, medium build with some present strength, has some projection. Pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot, has a high leg kick, fast arm, loose arm action, nice compact delivery. Pitches at 75-79 mph with his fastball, shows good two seam running action, gets a little too much plate with it. Curveball needs some tightening up, thrown at 69 mph, flashes better action. Low effort delivery, potential for two solid pitches, has the tools to improve. Also catches, flashes some arm strength and quickness in his feet. Right-handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, knee lift trigger, looks to pull the ball, line drive type swing path.
