Jake Jarvis is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Collins HS. Medium athletic build, good compact strength. Two-way prospect. Calm leg lift delivery on the mound, cross body release creates angle to the plate, high 3/4's arm slot, works downhill well, some effort on release. Upper 80's fastball topped out at 90 mph, mostly straight, both cut and sunk his fastball at times, has potential to develop consistent life. Varied curveball between 72 and 78 mph, hard curveballs had better spin and bite, nice developing feel for a fading change up. Feel for pitching developing quickly. 6.72 runner, very good infield arm strength, accurate throws, has good hands and stays balanced well. Right handed hitter, loose swing, smooth through the zone, has bat speed and strength at contact, line drive swing plane, ball comes off the barrel hard, present gap power. Polished all around player. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas A&M.
