Ruben Perez is a 2005 shortstop/third baseman from Miami Florida with a very projectable frame at 6 ft. 2 180 pounds. He hits from a solid base with good balance throughout the swing. He has a long swing plane and showed good bat speed. He had a good opposite field approach during BP lacing line drives to right field, and showing good power potential to all fields. He is a solid infielder with good hands and a soft glove. He has a slight hitch in his release but makes up for with a strong, accurate arm. (83 mph) He plays quicker than his 7.38 in the 60 may suggest. He has solid defensive skills and good power potential that projects well at the next level. Ruben is a very good student.
