Ryan Muse is a 2006 MIF from Enterprise HS, residing in Redding, CA, with a 5'10", 187 lb. frame. He has a strong, compact build that is well built for the second base position where there tends to be a lot of contact around the bag. Muse hits from a square stance. He has good bat speed and a short swing. At his best he lets the ball travel and uses the opposite field well. He has good balance during his swing and his lower half works well, providing him a solid foundation, resulting in gap power potential. In the field he sets-up to the ball well on defense and his hands show promise. Muse displayed a quick release that works well for the double play turn. His lateral range is good for second base and he played aggressively on defense, as well as offense. Muse has a bat that plays well for a middle infield position and it is a bat that should allow him to play early in college career.
