Jimmy Herget is a 2012 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 155 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Jefferson HS. Tall very slender build, unlikely to gain much weight in future. Tall straight up delivery, stays over the rubber well, short stride, lands open, quick short arm action, low 3/4's arm action, will drop closer to side arm at times, arm slot works very well for him. Steady 86-88 mph fastball, has touched 90 mph in past, consistent flat running action, some trouble getting fastball down to the glove side. Throws both slider and curveball, slider very good pitch at times, has sharpness, got in plus slider command groove and dominated, tends to drop under curveball but generates spin from hand speed. Has definite deception and some feel for pitching along with out pitch in slider. Signed with South Florida.
