Ryan Reece is a 2005, 6'2" third baseman from Huntsville, AL, with a good solid body and mature set of tools that should translate well to the high Division I college level. It’s obvious that this young prospect has swung wood before and worked on his swing and approach. He has a pro style set up with high hands and good momentum and rhythm through the ball. If anything, Reece does dive in a bit during his swing, but it’s for the purpose of getting his body moving through the ball. He should develop big time wood bat power in the future. Defensively, Reece has smooth actions and good first step quickness, especially to his glove side. His hands are soft and his transfers are quick. One thing that Reece didn’t do exceptionally well is run, but his 7.37 60 was on a very slow track. He might be more of a 7 flat type in ideal conditions down the road. High level player!
