Matt Kellogg is a 2013 LHP/1B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Bellaire HS. Nice athletic build, good strength with more to come. Balanced delivery with good direction to the plate, loose arm coming through, 3/4's slot, hides the ball well in back, lands a bit open in front. Fastball steady in the 85-87 range, projects added velocity, gets fastball running action when down, tended to miss up arm side frequently. Low 70's curveball with occasional 1/7 depth, primary fastball pitching this outing. Showed athleticism as a first baseman with quick feet and accurate strong throws, 7.17 runner. Strong swing with some hitting tools and pull power potential. Has the tools to play at the next level. Good student.
