Evan Cannan is a 2014 OF/RHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Tarpon Springs, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit HS. Slender young build, lots of room to fill out. Excellent outfield fundamentals and skills, plus footwork, charges hard, strong accurate throws, present arm strength. Right handed hitter, calm balanced approach, level line drive swing plane, mid field to pull contact, handles the barrel well, waiting for the strength to kick in. Also pitched, simple leg raise delivery, some effort at release, fastball to 87 mph with occasional cutting action, good tight spin/bite on his curveball. Live bodied athlete who should keep getting better as he adds strength.

Line drive swing plane, good approach, works the count well, goes with the pitch, all fields, easy swing. Good bat speed, quick hands, line drive swing plane, contact hitter, potential to develop power as he develops. Accurate throws from OF, strong arm, good transfer, online, good carry, good defensive actions. Hit 88 on the mound, pitches from 3/4 arm action, aggressive with fastball, life on it, good curveball, works quickly , projects well. Good student.
