Brett Layman is a 2015 SS/2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Ludlow, MA who attends Ludlow. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable frame and quick twitch muscle with room to fill out. Strong runner, posted a 6.79 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well to the ball with a quick first step, fields cleanly out front with nice hands, shows strength on throws across. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance, a high hand set and an open base. Compact swing, shows nice bat speed and gets the barrel through the zone with quick hands. Keeps hands in on inside pitches well, creates contact consistently to pull side but shows the ability to use all fields. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List. Outstanding student.
