Somto Egbuna is a 2014 SS with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Stone Mountain, GA who attends Chamblee Charter. Medium frame, strong lean athletic build, good baseball body. Sound hitting approach, hits from a slightly open stance, good balance to swing, some lift. Direct hand path, short swing in back with good extension through the baseball, strong forearms, throws hands well, uses all fields but best contact is to the pullside. Good in-game at-bats, went opposite way well with an 88 mph sinker down and away, has a lot of potential with the bat. High motor player, showed good all around hustle and instincts. Good defensive actions in the middle infield, arm works well, smooth actions, accurate throws with a short arm action and quick release, clean transfer. Very good student.
