Cody Reed is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Athens, AL who attends Ardmore HS. Thick slope shouldered build, good strength. Drop and drive delivery, quick compact arm action, high 3/4's slot, hides ball well and has some deception. Fastball to 88 mph, works fastball down in zone very well, maintains velocity from stretch, FB mostly straight. Slider best of the two breaking balls, good spin and bite with some depth, soft spin on curveball. Works quickly, throws strikes and works off his fastball. Left handed hitter, short swing, hits out front and looks to pull, line drive swing plane, strength gives some power potential. Good student.
