Jonathon Scharfman is a 2012 RHP/SS, 3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Bellmore, NY who attends JFK Bellmore HS. Lean athletic build. Multi-piece delivery with many check points, compact arm action, inconsistent release point. Mid 70's fastball, touched 76 mph, mostly straight. Maintains arm speed well on change up, soft spinning curveball, throws strikes and makes hitters swing, fields his position well. Right handed hitter, short contact type swing, big stride, finds the barrel consistently, mid field contact. 7.44 runner, quick feet on defense, moves well to the ball, throws have some carry. Good student.
