2012 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Quirino Esquivel is a 2014 2B/3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Green Cove Springs, FL who attends Clay HS. Smaller, wiry frame, does project, will fill out further with maturity. Ran a 7.37 60 yard. Shows some athleticism in the infield, playable arm at third base, arm works well, raw arm strength, consistent on-line throws, needs to improve glove actions, comes through the ball nicely. Right-handed hitter with a balance setup, gets to his front side a little too much, needs more hip rotation, flashes some bat speed, hits well to the opposite field. Good student.
