John Pettita is a 2014 LHP with a 6-3 260 lb. frame from Dallas, GA who attends East Paulding HS. Extra large build, carries weight well for his size. Slow paced delivery, over the top release point, will occasionally drop lower and get on side of ball, some effort on release, throws downhill. Consistent low 80's fastball, mostly straight with occasional running action, works corners with his fastball. Big breaking downer curveball, good spin and power when on top of it. Arm works well enough to project velocity. Showed hitting tools from the right side, hands stay pretty short, good balance and extension, has the strength to drive the ball, line drive plane, solid pull contact. Named to the Top Prospect Team.
