Ben Jacobson is a 2013 RHP/IF with a 6-0 188 lb. frame from Ottosen, IA who attends Humboldt HS. Solid athletic build with broad shoulders. Has a side step delivery with a little bounce on the back leg. Long loose arm action out of a high ¾ arm slot and gets downhill out of the wind up. Pounds the strike zone. Ran the FB up to 85 and showed good feel for a big breaking CB at 72 mph. 76 mph CH had big drop at times. Tempo needs work out of the stretch as he tends to rush. At the plate he has a wide set up and showed an aggressive swing, has present bat speed, ball jumps off barrel. Extension out front could be better. Excellent student.

Ben Jacobson is a 2013 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Ottosen, IA who attends Humboldt HS. Nice square shouldered athletic build, good present strength, young look with some physical projection. Simple turn and throw delivery, stays tall over the rubber with some bounce on his back side, high 3/4's arm slot, long swinging arm action, tends to rush delivery a bit from the stretch. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, maintained velocity well, mostly straight with some occasional arm side run. Very good curveball at 73 mph, gets over it well with sharp 12/6 downer shape, has the ability to throw his curveball for strikes. Rare change up. Has some present pitchability. Right handed hitter, crouched wide stance, high elbows, rotational swing, has some strength and ball comes off the barrel well, inconsistent swing mechanics, could extend better out front. Very good student.
