Nick Biancalana is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Roosevelt HS. Strong athletic build, has worked hard and firmed himself up well. Slow paced leg raise delivery, pause at the top, deep arm action, quick arm coming through, 3/4's release point, tends to spin off on release. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, have seen many times at 86-88 in the past, fastball mostly straight. Curveball and slider both quality pitches, different shape and velocity, curveball bites hard, slider has big depth at 75-77 mph, like to throw CB/SL in tandem and has a mature feel for the two pitches. Right handed hitter, tall stance, simple swing approach, looks to pull and lift the ball and has raw power. Outstanding student.

Nick Biancalana is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Roosevelt. Biancalana has a large frame with a thicker young build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a power arm action. He has good arm speed and a loose arm action which projects for more velocity. He gets some extension out front and will make a velocity jump with consistent lower half mechanics. Biancalana threw a tight slider at 77 MPH with good shape and late bite. He also threw a curve ball at 71 MPH with good shape. Biancalana also throws a change up with sink. Defensively he showed solid actions with nice hands. He swings with balance and has some bat speed and some pop. Excellent student.

Nick Biancalana is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Roosevelt HS. Big strong burly build. Slow paced low hand delivery, compact arm circle, stays on line well, 3/4's arm slot, sound overall mechanics. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, have seen 88 mph frequently in the recent past, very good boring life at times. Throws curveball and slider, slider better pitch at 78 mph with hard bite and 2-plane depth, nice sink on rare change up. Works down in zone and mixes well, has pitchability and command. Right handed hitter, short quick load, long and strong swing, upper cut plane with long extended finish, has the strength to lift the ball when squared. Shows his raw arm strength at third base. Excellent student.

Nick Biancalana is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Roosevelt HS. Big strong build, powerful look. Easy low effort delivery, compact tension free arm, high 3/4's tight arm slot, good downhill angle, power pitcher's arm action. Mid 80's fastball, topped at 87 mph, mostly straight. Slider flashes hard bite down in zone with good size but not consistent yet, pitches to bottom of zone with both pitches. Tends to rush from the stretch. Very good chance to be 90+ thrower in the next 1-2 years with normal development. Tall, calm approach at the plate, limited load, long loose swing, has some lift/extension out front, looks to pull, power approach with strength and some hitting tools. Very good follow. Excellent student.
