Gordon Cardenas is a 2013 RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Manhattan Beach, CA who attends Mira Costa HS. Medium athletic build, strong square shoulders. Full arm circle, fast arm, some effort on release, high 3/4's release, has better stuff from the stretch than the windup. Steady upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90, mostly straight, aggressive early in the count with fastballs, good curveball spin with depth, some developing feel for a change up. Two way prospect, can play both middle infield and centerfield, strong arm, good jumps in the outfield, can make the athletic catch. Right handed hitter, good bat speed, ball comes off the barrel hard, can get long at times, aggressive pull approach. Quality all around athlete.
