Denz'l Chapman is a 2014 OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Serra HS. Compact athletic build, has added strength over the past year. Explosive runner, has run 6.3 in the past, 3.8 bunt, 4.2 turn, 3.3 on a steal at this event. Speed plays up in the outfield, plays very shallow, very good jumps and routes, solid arm strength with sound footwork, has been well coached defensively, aggressive to the ball. Switch-hitter, more advanced from the right side, calm short swing, gets to his front side early, line drives to all fields. Open and spread left handed, stiffer shift with less bat speed, contact approach. Has the strength to create more bat speed. Speed is an impact tool on both sides of the ball, would love to see him run a 60 today. Good student.

Outstanding speed, 6.36 on a rough track, immediate first step quickness, runs easily, potential impact player on speed alone. Switch-hitter, leg raise trigger, foot often late, keeps hands short to the ball, tends to cut off out front, better game swings that BP, equal bat speed both sides, hitting tools to develop but raw now. Loose easy arm action, some present arm strength with more to come, on line accurate throws, speed should give easy plus range in centerfield. Tools to be an impact player with development. Good student, follow very closely!
